Shri Durga Temple
Sri Durga Temple started operations in March 2012 in Bakersfield, California. After three years of very successful operations during which our audience grew significantly. Shri Durga Temple to offer an expanded set of services and to serve a larger audience.
Shri Durga Temple is dedicated to serving the spiritual, cultural, social and educational needs of the Hindu Community Our mission is to advance and teach the religious tenets, doctrines, observances, teaching and learning of Hindu Philosophy, music, arts, devotional songs and cultural aspects associated with the Hindu faith. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate at our events.
Our long-term goal is to become one of the leading Hindu institutions of learning and teaching in the Bakersfield and surrounding areas.
Our Devotees
Our core devotees and audience is everyone who is interested in learning and practising Hinduism and Hindu culture in all its various forms, regardless of their national origins. Generally, our devotees come from many countries and who have migrated and settled in the Bakersfield are Their needs are to maintain their Hindu culture and religion Everyone is welcome to attend and participate at our events.
Our Spiritual Leader, Pandit Sharma is able to deliver religious and other services in Sanskrit, Hindi and English and is able to attract an audience from many different backgrounds, especially young people and English speaking audiences who do not speak Hindi.
